Eni’s affiliate IEOC Production BV has started production of gas through Denise South 6 subsea well in Egypt
The Denise South 6 is the first development well of the DEKA project, situated in the Temsah Concession Area offshore Nile Delta. The well is located around 65km north of Port Said at a depth of 100 metres.
IEOC Production BV had entered a joint venture with BP Egypt for this exploration project, Italian explorer Eni said.
IEOC holds a 50 per cent working interest in the Temsah Concession Area and operates through its joint venture firm Petrobel.
The subsea well produces at a gas rate of 1.8mn cu/m per day and associated condensates of about 800 bpd. Production is expected to peak by Q1 2015 with a total gross gas rate of about 6.5mn cu/m per day, added officials.
According to IEOC Production BV, five subsea wells will be drilled, production systems with sealines installed and gas processed at onshore Gamil Gas Plant as part of the DEKA project.
