Chiyoda in frame agreement with Qatargas

Japan’s Chiyoda Corporation has signed an agreement between its subsidiary in Qatar, Chiyoda Almana Engineering (CAEL) and Qatargas for an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) frame agreement with Qatargas.

A contract value was not disclosed. The contract runs for an initial period of three years, with the option of a two-year extension.

CAEL has been selected to provide EPCm services for a total of seven LNG production lines, including four mega-sized LNG plants (each with a capacity of 7.8MTA), the company said in a statement.
Chiyoda has constructed all of Qatargas’s LNG trains.

CAEL currently has more than 350 employees in Qatar and provides its services to various clients in Qatar.

Chiyoda stated that in the near future the company intends to expand its services to cover other countries in the Middle East.
