WesternGeco confirmed technical details of the five-year contract awarded by Kuwait Oil Corporation (KOC) for the worlds largest-ever channel count seismic survey covering 2,895km2 over five Jurassic-age fields in Kuwait.
The contract includes land acquisition with the UniQ integrated point-receiver system deploying 207,000 point receivers.
More efficient operations
"KOC technical leadership in land seismic continues with this contract for UniQ full-azimuth technology that not only provides improved data quality, but also enables more efficient operations," said Ziad Jeha, vice president, land seismic, WesternGeco.
WesternGeco will deploy proprietary Desert Explorer 80,000-lb peak-force vibrators to provide the cleanest and lowest-frequency data in the industry.
