Technip granted offshore Dubai contract

Technip, the oil and gas firm, has acquired operating rights over an area offshore Dubai as a result of an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) contract awarded by Dubai Petroleum

The contract, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012, relates to the South West Fatah and Falah fields, located 90km offshore Dubai and with a water depth of 53 metres.

Technip senior vice president Arturo Grimaldi said, “This contract is a significant milestone for Technip in the Middle East. It confirms our entry into the promising subsea business in the region.”

According to the EPIC contract, Technip will replace a 30cm gas pipeline and six 45cm water injection pipelines, as well as utilising its flagship G1201 S-Lay installation vessel.
