SNC-Lavalin wins engineering contract from Saudi-Kuwait oil firm

SNC-Lavalin Engineers and Constructors Inc, a subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin, has signed a five-year framework agreement to provide international general engineering services to Al Khafji Joint Operations (KJO)

KJO is a joint operations company comprising Aramco Gulf Operations Company Limited and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company.

The new framework agreement builds upon an existing five-year framework contract for in-kingdom general engineering studies signed in February 2018.

Under the terms of the agreement, SNC-Lavalin will provide a range of engineering services to assist KJO with engineering for major projects which include

· New offshore platforms, jackets and sub-sea pipelines

· Upgrades to existing offshore platforms and jackets

· Onshore crude and gas handling facilities

· Gas pipeline networks

· Utilities

· Wastewater treatment facilities

· Instrumentation systems

SNC-Lavalin’s teams based in Houston, Texas and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia will carry out the work, supported by SNC-Lavalin’s global centres of excellence in London, Calgary and Mumbai.

Speaking to the press, Christian Brown, president for oil and gas at SNC-Lavalin, noted, “These agreements allow us to work closely as a trusted partner to our clients, providing valuable engineering services over many years.”

KJO is responsible for oil and gas exploration, development and production in the offshore area close to the Saudi-Kuwait border, including the Khafji and Hout oil fields which have been in production since the 1960s.
