PDO renews Ardiseis Oman contract

Exploration & Production

Ardiseis, the regional joint venture between CGGVeritas and TAQA, has been awarded a three-year contract extension from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) for its high-productivity 3D land seismic operations that it is currently undertaking in Oman

The company will have an option for a further one-year extension to the high-channel-count seismic project.

CGGVeritas chief executive officer Jean-Georges Malcor said, “We are very proud that this level of survey excellence is the result of the strong commitment we share with both TAQA and our client PDO who have renewed their confidence in our high-end technologies for the coming years.”

The company will implement two new technologies that will enable improved penetration of the seismic signal, which it said would result in a high-density dataset containing frequencies down to 1.5 Hz.

This step-change in the resolution will be achieved via the use of the Sercel Nomad 90 vibrator and CGGVeritas's own broadband vibroseis technique, EmphaSeis.
