The Shahid Rajaee Offshore Drilling Mast has been installed in the largest phase of the South Pars field according to the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC)
The mast has been installed to conduct complementary processes of six gas wells Mehr News Agency quoted NIDC manager for offshore drilling, Masoud Haqiqi, as saying.
The mast has been transferred to Phase 12 from Phase 14 of South Pars, according to Haqiqi, and it is hoped that the measure will increase output from the wells.
He added that the development of Phase 12 of the field will enable the production of 75mn cu/m of gas which will be then transferred to the national gas supply network.
It is estimated that about 120,000 barrels of gas condensate and 750 tons of sulphur will be produced daily in Phase 12.
Shahid Rajaee Drilling Mast is said to be one of the best equipped offshore drilling masts in the region and has drilled over 100 offshore wells to date.
