Honghua Group was awarded a contract worth more than US$300mn by National Drilling Company (NDC) to provide drilling rigs suitable for working on islands.
The contract was signed by Abdalla Saeed Al Suwaidi, chief executive officer of NDC and Zhang Mi, chairman of Honghua Group, a global drilling rig manufacturer.
Delivery in 2013
Honghua will provide seven units of 9000-meter 3000hp cluster land drilling rigs, which will be used mainly in the operation of oilfields in the Middle-East. All drilling rigs will be delivered to the client throughout stages in 2013.
Highest standards
In a company statement, Al Suwaidi said that the award of this project comes in line with the company strategic expansion plans to meet the future needs of its clients. He emphasised that the island rigs will be manufactured with the highest standards of HSE, quality and technical specifications.
