Norways DNO International has revealed that a test at the Peshkabir-1 well in northern Iraq has revealed the presence of oilÂ
The company said that it had found moveable oil in the Jurassic interval of the well on the Peshkabir field. Previous tests in the Peshkabir-1 well produced water at two Triassic intervals and one of three Cretaceous intervals.
DNO said it would conduct further tests to acquire additional data. Following the Jurassic test, DNO is now considering two additional tests in the Cretaceous zone.
DNO did not indicate the amount or quality of the find.
