Oil services provider AGR Petroleum Services has signed a US$27.2mn contract with Genel Energy to deliver well management services for the Anglo-Turkish oil and gas firm’s North and West Africa offshore drilling campaign
The contract involves provision of full well management and associated services that includes drilling, engineering and planning services, supply chain management and operations support for Genel Energy’s high impact 10-well drilling campaign in the area.
Slated to start in Q4 2013, the programme, using the Noble Paul Romano deepwater semi-submersible rig, is expected to take two years to complete.
Ian Burdis, AGR’s executive vice president of UK and West Africa said, “AGR is pleased to be working with Genel Energy on this project. This is an important award and in conjunction with other recent contract wins, strengthens AGR’s position as the premier provider of well management and associated services in Northwest Africa.”
The Genel Energy project is the latest in a number of long-term contracts secured by AGR’s well management business, including the recent establishment of a multi-well, multi-client campaign on the Norwegian continental shelf and the well management contract for Statoil.
AGR CEO Age Landro said, “AGR has been focusing on building long-term contractual relationships with key industry players and I am delighted we have secured this opportunity to work with Genel Energy.”
AGR Petroleum Services has witnessed an increasing worldwide demand for its ‘added value’ well management services.
