The third edition of Ethylene & Specialty Chemicals Conference to take place in Bahrain next week

The Ethylene Middle East Technology Conference, the only conference and exhibition of its kind in the region, will take place in less than three weeks at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre on 13-14 February 2019

This edition, co-located with the Middle East Fine & Specialty Conference & Exhibition (ME-SPEC), will see 1,000 delegates, from all the main contributors to the ethylene and specialty industry.

EMET & ME-SPEC 2019 will be officially inaugurated by His Excellency Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, Kingdom of Bahrain, and will host top-level industry executives. Senior leaders will share their company’s strategy on topics like the “Changing Competitive Landscape for Petrochemicals in the GCC”, “Importance of Operational Excellence in Middle East Chemicals” & “Crude Oil to Chemicals – a Game Changer” during the morning keynote sessions.

A master class on process safety in ethylene plants will take place on the 13 of February. Organised by the American Institute for Chemical Engineers (AIChE), this class will be taught by a global ethylene safety expert.

Under the theme, ‘Enhancing Competitiveness through Energy Efficiency, Cost Effectiveness, Asset Reliability and Human Capital’, presentations will be made by operators/ owners sharing the solutions implemented in their plants covering subjects like ‘An inter-olefins plant optimisation using Machine learning and Linear Programming techniques’, ‘Furnaces Excess Oxygen Optimisation’, ‘Maximising Furnace Capacity Utilisation during Feedstock Curtailment’, ‘Unexpected Two-Phase Flow Stalling A Demethenizer Intercondenser’, ‘Comprehensive Assessment of Steam Crackers for Energy Intensity Improvement’ and ‘Dense loading of molecular sieve in charge gas drier’, ‘Propane furnace dynamic conversion control’.

The ME-SPEC conference is expected to drive industry leaders, suppliers of petrochemicals, transformers, OEMs and investors together to understand the demands of this vast business and how it can be capitalised in the Middle East.

Vitals issues related to speciality chemicals and its application in oil and gas, construction, packaging, automotive and water management will be discussed between chemical engineers, technicians, and relevant industry giants and public and private bodies actively involved in the chemical business.
