Innovation and transformation will be the best approach to the growth of the oil and gas sector, said GOTECH Chairman ahead of the conference
More than 100 companies will be exhibiting their technology and solutions at GOTECH 2019, the third annual conference of its kind to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 21-23 October.
The event, held under the patronage of Sheik Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance of the UAE, Chairman of Dragon Oil, is organised by Dragon Oil, a UAE-based oil and gas operator.
More than 150 high-quality and interactive technical papers are scheduled to be shared at the conference, providing a strong insight into the industry and its priorities. These readings will be further reinforced by the presence of five technical panels in which experts recognised in their fields of activity will focus on the urgent needs of the hour in which the industry is concerned.
Industry leaders will discuss recent developments and innovations and bring to the attention of some of the industry’s questionable perspectives addressing relevant issues such as oil and gas artificial intelligence, well-construction, production optimisation, health and safety, and advanced geophysical applications.
This year’s technical conference is organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
There will also be an open-house plenary session with industry leaders, where a non-stop question and answer approach will generate new ideas, mark aspirations and underline concerns about the paths to a successful future for the oil and gas industry.
The conference will focus on research and development, which, according to Dragon Oil CEO Ali Rashed Al Jarwan, is seen as an integral part of a better tomorrow and needs to be organic and dynamic as innovations change ways of working and give the sector the flexibility to adjust to new winds.
Al Jarwan said, “We firmly believe that such a coming together of the top minds as in GOTECH 2019 is imperative and stands the sector in good stead. We believe the emphasis on research and development is a high priority and our company will always encourage new trends and breakthroughs.”
