The Basra Oil & Gas International Exhibition & Conference is set to take place for the fourth consecutive year, having doubled in size year-on-year, with interest in the Iraqi oil and gas market from global oil and gas companies continuing to grow
Basra Oil & Gas International Conference will look to provide a platform from which the oil and gas industry can gather to discuss core issues and present a networking opportunity for the regional and international oil and gas community.
The event, the largest oil and gas industry exhibition in Iraq, has attracted a number of experts from across the oil and gas sector who will address the challenges and opportunities of the Iraqi market at the exhibition's conference. The conference will look to provide the opportunity for delegates to learn more about the current landscape of Iraq’s oil and gas fields.
Speakers will include experts and professionals from Rumulia, Shell, General Electric (GE) and South Oil Company (SOC), who will touch on topics including Iraqi production, technology, health and safety, laws and regulations and petrochemicals, with the conference theme this year set as "Iraq: The Hub of Future Energy".
Falah Al-Kahawaja, the ex-director general of State Company for Oil Project who will manage the 2013 conference, said, "This conference provides an unrivalled opportunity for the oil and gas industry to understand more about Iraq and the expectations for the future.
"It is a complex market to navigate, and we want to provide a platform that gives local, regional and international companies interested in doing business in Iraq somewhere to share knowledge, experience and insight."
The Basra Oil & Gas International Exhibition & Conference, which will take place from 5-8 December 2013 at Basra International Fair Ground, will be expected to host more than 250 companies, according to show organisers Expotim.
