Saudi Aramco has awarded two contracts to Schlumberger for drilling rigs and services for oil and gas wells in the Kingdom
Under the contracts, Schlumberger Integrated Drilling Services (IDS) will provide drilling rigs and services for up to 146 gas wells and up to 128 oil wells for a period of three years.
Mohammed Qahtani, senior vice-president for upstream at Saudi Aramco, said that the company hopes to bring innovative technologies to the field through the contract with Schlumberger and deploy them in large-scale operations.
The contracts are designed to provide an integrated service to deliver wells, which is expected to increase efficiency levels and improve cost-effectiveness, while maintaining the safety standards.
In developing the agreements, Saudi Aramco and Schlumberger focused on enhanced processes and the latest technology, aiming to ensure safe and efficient operations at all times.
Commenting about the contract, Paal Kibsgaard, chairman and CEO of Schlumberger, said that the company looks forward to working in close collaboration with Saudi Aramco to successfully deliver these oil and gas wells.
Saudi Aramco and Schlumberger have about 75 years of partnership in Saudi Arabia, and with the new contracts both the companies aim to attain greater achievements in the future.
