UK-based engineering consultant Mott MacDonald and Iraqi contracting firm Khudairi Group have signed a partnership agreement to deliver oil and gas projects in Iraq

According to the agreement, the consultancy’s full range of engineering and procurement technical support services along with Khudairi Group’s procurement, inspection, expediting and construction management services will be used to deliver the oil and gas projects.

Albert Allan, managing director of Mott MacDonald’s oil and gas business, said, “The initiative combines the strengths of both companies to offer our clients wide-range of engineering, procurement and construction services in this fast growing market.”

Allan added that the company will use building information modelling (BIM) system to add value to the projects. BIM is a collaborative working philosophy that allows projects to be delivered faster, efficiently and with significant cost benefits.

Mohammed Khudairi, executive vice-president of Khudairi Group, noted, “We are excited about a partnership that will combine Mott MacDonald’s international engineering standards with Khudairi Group’s local capabilities and experience on-the-ground in Iraq. Together, we will be able to capture more opportunities and support our current relationships with the international oil companies, as Iraq continues to rehabilitate its infrastructure and focus on new projects.”

In addition to supply chain, Khudairi Group provides design, logistics supervision, field commissioning and warranty support.
