Emerson and KOC sign MoU for operational and staff development

UK-based manufacturing company Emerson has signed an MoU with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to help develop technical expertise of Kuwaiti operations and maintenance staff

According to the MoU, the two companies will work together to promote automation knowledge and technology transfers, identify necessary technical training as well as develop learning and development programmes in order to prepare personnel for future projects.

Emerson general manager Arif Mustafa said, “We would like to thank KOC for their trust in Emerson’s capabilities, for sharing with us their plan to enhance the capabilities of their employees and for asking us to be a part of this plan.”

The MoU came two years after Emerson provided a comprehensive training to KOC’s engineers. The training, a 19-week boot camp programme held in 2013, covered field instrumentation, cyber security, process control including advanced control and complex control strategies. It was conducted at Emerson’s regional training centres in the USA.
