Weir Oil and Gas signs US$50mn multi-year contracts in Iraq

Weir Oil and Gas Dubai has signed US$50mn multi-year contracts in Iraq with two international oil companies

The contracts secure the provision of Weir Oil and Gas workshop services and engineering support for an oil field and valve repair and maintenance services for another giant oil field, respectively.

In the EMEARC region, Weir Oil and Gas provides a full range of services from oilfield services, OCTG, off-the-shelf API products, plant operation and maintenance and rotating equipment services as well as customised wellhead solutions designed to meet unique specifications.

The company provides in-country service and support through centres of Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence, which allow the company to serve the customer better.

Weir is also focused on building its pressure control and oilfield services to be the preferred supplier of pressure containment products and services for drilling and production customers in the Middle East region.

Commenting on the Iraqi oil and gas contract, Ronan Le Gloahec, managing director of Weir Oil and Gas at EMEARC region, said that Weir aims to support clients through providing services, repairs and important upgrades while assisting them with engineer-driven change management protocols and production facility turnarounds.
