Samsung to build nitrogen plant for Gasco

Gasco (Abu Dhabi Gas Industries) awarded Samsung Engineering a contract for a nitrogen gas injection (NGI) plant worth US$160mn.

Samsung Engineering president & CEO Park Ki-Seok and Gasco CEO Mohammed Sahoo Al Suwaidi were present in Abu Dhabi for the official signing ceremony, a Samsung statement said.

600mn SCFD of nitrogen

The NGI plant will be built in Mirfa, UAE and will be capable of injecting 600mn cubic feet (SCFD) of nitrogen gas into wells to increase gas production as part of an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) programme.

Completion by August 2014

Samsung Engineering is executing the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning for the project on a lump-sum turnkey basis. The plant is expected to achieve completion by August 2014.
