Gas

Iran will build the countrys first gas-to-liquid (GTL) refinery for converting natural gas to gasoline according to deputy minister of industries and mines.

Majid Hedayet discussed the importance of GTL for the Iranian oil and gas sector, stating that it made technical and economic sense to develop GTL industries in Iran, which has 33 tcm of natural gas and could help reduce the country's dependence on gasoline imports, reported Mehr News Agency.

GTL is one of the most advanced industries for procuring value-added products from natural gas.

Hedayet also discussed Iran self-sufficiency programme which will see Iran set to produce 10 types of industrial catalysts. "We will become self-sufficient in producing gasoline catalyst in the near future," Hedayet commented
