INTERSEC 2025 Spotlighting cybersecurity Next year’s Intersec will see the UAE Cyber Security Council as a supporting partner for the Cyber Security Sector. I ntersec 2025 is set to return to the Dubai World Trade Centre from 14-16 January 2025, with a heightened focus on cybersecurity. Now in its 26th edition, the event will place significant emphasis on the intersection of cybersecurity with other key security sectors, such as physical security, emergency response, homeland security, and policing. A newly introduced startup zone will feature advanced solutions and innovations in cybersecurity, ensuring visitors experience a well-rounded experience addressing current industry threats. The importance of cybersecurity in the UAE is particularly pressing, as highlighted by the 2024 State of the UAE - Cybersecurity Report by the UAE Cyber Security Council and CPX Holding. The report revealed over 155,000 vulnerable assets, with many critical vulnerabilities left unaddressed for more than five years. Ransomware attacks account for over half of the incidents, targeting the government, energy, and IT sectors. Cybersecurity topics will take centre stage at the 2025 Intersec Security Leaders' Summit (ISLS), covering areas such as future cyber threats, building resilience, deepfakes, and ransomware. Additionally, the new CISO Business Briefing will explore key trends and threats in information security, 11 Issue 7 2024 | oilreviewmiddleeast.com Image Credit: Intersec 2024 The UAE currently holds over 155,000 vulnerable assets with government, energy, and IT sectors being the primary targets
