Technip has been awarded an engineering, procurement, installation and construction (EPIC) contract for a platform by Dubai Petroleum Establishment (DPE) offshore UAE

The Jalilah B development project is located nearly 90km offshore Dubai, at water depth of 60 metres.

The French company’s scope of work consists of the construction and installation of the Jalilah B platform, a 900-tonne deck, a 500-tonne jacket, as well as 13 new risers on the existing platforms.

It also includes the installation of 110km of pipelines ranging from 6 to 24 inches in diameter. This contract will use Technip’s three specialised vessels, including the G1201, which is designed for work in both deep and shallow water, the firm added.

Vaseem Khan, senior vice-president of Technip in the Middle East, said, “We are delighted to be awarded this new project, a few months after the successful completion of our first subsea project in the Middle East for DPE, for the South West Fateh and Falah oilfields.”

Technip’s operating centre in Abu Dhabi is expected to execute this fast-track project, which is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2014, sources said.
